About Us

The AFL was incorporated in Salem, Oregon on March 25, 2005 as a nonprofit public benefit corporation with members. It is the product of many, many hours of discussion, thought, research, and observation by a group of fencers in the Pacific Northwest. After months of organizational meetings, on January 2, 2006 we approved our bylaws and began accepting members.

Our board of directors consists of:

  • President -- Michael Heggen
    Salem Classical Fencing; Salem, Oregon
  • Secretary -- Nanci Keatley
    Salem Classical Fencing; Salem, Oregon
  • Treasurer -- Keith Kohan
    Salem Classical Fencing; Salem, Oregon
  • National Division Director -- Joel Klepper (term expires 8/31/06)
Southern Oregon Fencing Center; Ashland, Oregon

This board's term will expire on August 31, 2007.
